Resin pool surrounds

A resin pool surround is a resin bound surface laid around a swimming pool or hot tub. It drains quickly, has no joints to trap water, and a light-coloured blend stays cooler in the sun than dark paving.

How resin pool surrounds work

Around water the priorities are grip, drainage and comfort under bare feet. A finer, lighter aggregate with an anti-slip additive gives a surface that sheds water quickly and does not get as hot as dark stone.

The detail at the pool coping is planned with your pool installer, so the resin finishes cleanly against the coping stones and falls away from the water.

Worked example (UK average): a 25 m² patio laid over a sound base comes to about £1,100–£1,750; with a dig-out and new permeable base about £1,900–£3,000, including VAT.
