Resin driveway prices
A resin bound driveway typically costs £45–£70 per m² including VAT when laid over a sound existing tarmac or concrete base, and £75–£120 per m² with a full dig-out and new permeable base. A two-car drive of about 40 m² commonly comes to £1,800–£2,800 as an overlay.
How much does resin cost per m²?
| System | Over a sound base | New base |
|---|---|---|
| Resin bound (smooth, permeable) | £45–£70 | £75–£120 |
| Resin bonded (textured, grippy) | £35–£55 | £65–£100 |
Patios and pool surrounds are priced like drives. Narrow paths cost about 15% more per m², because edging and set-up take a larger share of the work.

Price questions
How much does a resin driveway cost?
Over a sound existing tarmac or concrete base, resin bound is typically about £45–£70 per m² including VAT. With a full dig-out and new permeable base it is typically about £75–£120 per m². A two-car drive of around 40 m² commonly comes to about £1,800–£2,800 as an overlay, or about £3,000–£4,800 with a new base, before edging, drainage and regional differences.
Why is a new base so much more expensive?
Because most of the work is groundworks: digging out, removing spoil, laying and compacting the sub-base, and laying a binder course. The resin layer itself is a smaller part of the cost.
Do your prices include VAT?
Yes. All guide prices on this site include VAT at 20%.
Why are London prices higher?
Labour, access, parking and waste disposal all cost more in London and much of the South East.
