Permeable driveways and SuDS explained
SuDS stands for sustainable drainage systems: managing rainwater where it falls instead of sending it straight to drains. A permeable resin driveway lets rain soak through the surface and the layers beneath into the ground, which eases local flooding and usually avoids a planning application on a front garden.

How does a permeable build work?
Rain passes through the resin bound surface and a porous asphalt binder into an open-graded stone sub-base, where it is stored in the voids and soaks slowly into the ground.
Does it work on clay?
Yes, with design. On clay the sub-base acts as a storage tank, releasing water slowly, and an overflow to a soakaway can be added for heavy storms.
