Resin vs block paving: cost, looks and upkeep
Block paving is easier to patch and lift for repairs; resin bound is seamless, weed-free and permeable without special blocks. On a new base the costs are similar, and resin over a sound existing drive is often the cheaper of the two.

Which costs less?
Resin bound over a sound base is typically about £45–£70/m² inc VAT. On a new base both systems land in a similar range, because the groundworks are similar.
Which is easier to live with?
Block paving needs re-sanding and weeding along the joints and can sink in places over time. Resin bound has no joints, so weeds cannot root through, but repairs can show a slight colour difference.
Which drains better?
Standard block paving with sealed joints is not permeable. Permeable block paving exists and works well. Resin bound on a permeable base is permeable across the whole surface.
